There are a number casinos in the state, the majority on docked barges. The biggest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an American Indian gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gaming area, 1,500 slot machines, thirty table games, such as twenty-one, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many types of poker; including three eatery’s, biweekly shows, and betting lessons. A further large Amerindian gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 slot machines, and 14 table games. Furthermore, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and 4 dining rooms. There are many other dominant Iowa casinos, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A tinier Iowa gambling hall is the Diamond Jo, a riverboat casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slots, and 14 table games. Another Iowa paddle wheel boat casino, The Isle of Capri, is open all day and night, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. water based casino in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday chemin de fer events.

Iowa casinos provide an excellent deal of tax revenue to the state government of Iowa, which has enabled the funding of a lot of commonwealth wide activities. Visitors have increased at an accelerated rate accompanied with the demand for companies and a growth in jobs. Iowa gambling halls have been helpful to the growth of the market, and the excitement for wagering in Iowa is widespread.
